CINÉ ART

LOUPIAN

Description

Ciné Art is a monthly event featuring a short lecture followed by a film on the life of an artist: Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) is one of the greatest painters of the Italian Renaissance. Born in Vinci, a small village near Florence, he distinguished himself in many fields: painting, sculpture, architecture, science, engineering and anatomy. As a painter, Leonardo da Vinci is best known for such major works as The Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. His paintings are characterized by great realism, an exceptional mastery of light and shadow, and the technique of sfumato, which softens contours and gives depth to faces.Beyond art, Leonardo was a passionate observer of nature. He filled thousands of pages of notebooks studying the human body, the flight of birds, the movement of water and the workings of machines. Many of his inventions, such as flying machines, bridges and military devices, were far ahead of their time.
