Caroline Deyns’ latest novel “Trencadis”, published in 2020 by Quidam Editeur, presents the biography of artist Niki de Saint Phalle in an original way, both in content and form. It retraces her artistic and family history, examining the link between the trauma she experienced as a pre-teen and her work as an artist, as well as the conditions of creation, the female condition, love and social determinism.
