TOULOUSE
As part of its Un chef-d’œuvre pour Noël programme, the Fondation Bemberg is proud to present the Portrait de Madame de La Laurencie et de ses enfants by Maurice Denis, the “Nabi aux belles icônes” in the Gorges-Bemberg room. Created in 1904 on commission from Jean de La Laurencie, this masterpiece on temporary loan illustrates the painter’s “New Classicism”, combining refinement, balance and Renaissance inspiration.
The Portrait of Madame de La Laurencie and Her Children will be on display to help visitors better understand the work. You’ll also be able to explore the work of a major artist who moved from the Nabi movement to a modern reinterpretation of religious tradition, leaving a lasting mark on the history of art.
Finally, the exhibition is accompanied by a number of events:
– Flash visits: a quick introduction to the exhibition and a focus on the work in question.
Every Wednesday at 3pm (except 31/12) and Friday at 4pm (except 26/12 and 02/01).
– Family visits (booking required): An interactive tour of the permanent collections and the exhibition. 06/12, 20/12 and 23/12 at 3pm, 24/12 at 11am.
