If anyone has had a plethora of fleeting and transient romantic adventures, it is surely Don Juan Tenorio, the Seducer of Seville… With C. W. Gluck’s flamboyant eponymous score as its central thread, this production of *Don Juan* succeeds in blending the old and the new, whilst bringing out the universal elements of this drama from Spain’s Golden Age. Edward Clug brings the myth to life through a danced allegory that fuses elements of tradition with neoclassical and contemporary aesthetics, thus treating the story symbolically, not without a touch of humour.
