Dive into the heart of the “Garrigue Enchantée” with the LPO at the Maison du Malpas!
Calling all curious nature lovers! On Sunday May 24, the Maison du Malpas in Colombiers will be transformed into an open-air laboratory. Starting at 2pm, the LPO (Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux) invites you to discover the secrets of our land through its interactive stand: “La Garrigue Enchantée”.
Far from theoretical lectures, this event offers a sensory and playful immersion in this rich and fragile ecosystem.
The Program: A journey for the 5 senses
The stand is designed as a discovery trail where young and old alike can handle, smell and experiment:
Botany and Grimoires: Explore a herbarium in the form of an old grimoire. A treasure trove of leaves and flowers to help you recognize local flora.
Olfactory Odyssey: Test your nose with four scent vials. Can you identify the characteristic scents that fill our paths?
Chemical apprentices : Take part in a unique chemical experiment to understand the geology of the garrigue. A fun, scientific approach to discovering what lies beneath our feet.
Habitats and Biodiversity: * An illustrated tarpaulin (80×60 cm) will show you the mosaic of natural habitats.
Species cards and figurines will help you identify the animals and plants that inhabit these landscapes.
Survival strategies: A card game will help you discover the incredible ability of plants to adapt to heat and drought.
Understanding for better protection
Because the garrigue is a precious but threatened environment, a photolangage workshop will be set up. This exchange tool will enable us to discuss current environmental challenges and the pressures weighing on our local biodiversity.
