AGDE
‘Aux origines de l’ipséïte’ brings together three artists: Sandrine Laila Kanoun (SLK), a visual artist from Agathe, who is returning to her hometown accompanied by two artists from Quebec, Christiane Gravel and Huguette Thivierge Bélanger (HTBEL).
The exhibition offers a journey where art history, contemporary sensibility and inner exploration converge to provide the public with an experience that is both aesthetic and intimate.

Christiane Gravel – C.GRAVEL
A painter born in Montreal in 1956, Christiane Gravel discovered painting later in life, embarking on a deeply personal and constantly evolving artistic journey. She developed her vision and refined her artistic sensibility through years of exploration, learning and diligent practice.
Inspired by her travels and the richness of her emotions, Christiane created works where memories, impressions and inner life converge. Her paintings are distinguished by their gentleness, their intuition and a constant search for light.
With her fellow members of the Ipséist group, the artist found a space for exchange and reflection, which accompanied her creative journey until her death in April 2024.
She leaves behind a body of work imbued with authenticity, poetry and humanity. Her pictorial world remains a vibrant testament to an artist who was able to transform her experiences and emotions into a deeply moving visual language.
