Musical: “Christian, a fifty-five-year-old plumber – divorced, lonely and weary – drifts through a dreary existence in the company of his dog Mickey. His children have gone their own ways, which he fails to understand. His only moments of social interaction are his visits to the village café. To make ends meet, he follows the advice of his friend Bernard and rents out a plot of his land. This is how Alma arrives: a 68-year-old Spanish pensioner, full of life, exuberant, colourful and outspoken – the exact opposite of Christian. Over the course of a few weeks, this forced cohabitation turns into a genuine connection: Alma sees in Christian a generous and sensitive man, stifled by routine. She encourages him to open up to others, and to reconnect with his children – his son, who is passionate about fashion, and his daughter, a mountain guide. This story recounts Christian’s rebirth – once trapped in a grey existence – thanks to the cultural and emotional upheaval brought about by Alma.”
