TOULOUSE
When night falls, a different kind of life awakens in the city. Along the Canal du Midi in Toulouse, many species live, hunt and travel in the dark. At dusk, set off to meet these nocturnal species. On a walk, discover the Black Thread that enables animals to move around and access the habitats they need to survive in an urban environment. Using examples such as bats, you will observe the impact of urban development and lighting, and find solutions to promote biodiversity and the health of this fauna, which is active at night.
A walk to observe and imagine together a city that welcomes nature.
Co-produced by the Toulouse Natural History Museum and the Centre Permanent d’Initiatives pour l’Environnement (CPIE) – Terres Toulousaines.
Reminder of the route: Start in front of the Conseil départemental, exit from the “Canal du Midi” metro station and walk to the Ponts jumeaux, then back along the other bank.
