Synopsis:
The poignant reunion of a father and his son. The father is dying, and the son comes to his bedside to listen as he recounts the slightly fantastical story of his life. The epic scale of the tales lends itself to a deeply moving, intimate narrative. A secret city where shoes are forbidden, a travelling circus in shimmering colours, Siamese singers in the heart of Korea, but also a witch, a giant, a mermaid and a werewolf. Why do we tell stories, and for whom? Tim Burton seems to have found the answer.
