On the weekend of 1 and 2 August 2026, ‘Cheval en fête’ returns to the Abbaye-école.
– Saturday 1 August: for trekkers only (not open to the public): horse riding and walking treks in the Montagne Noire, setting off from the Park. Registration required: €30 for riders (trail + meal); €18 for accompanying adults and walkers (meal).
Horses are not provided.
– Sunday 2 August: open to the public from 9.00 am
From 9.00 am to 4.00 pm: conformation and gait competitions*, herding dogs, agility with the Carcassonne Dog Club, woodworking with the ASTRE association
From 10.00 am to 3.00 pm: official carriage driving manoeuvrability competition* with the ‘Attelage pour tous’ association
4.30 pm: arena open to equestrian performers
5.30 pm: equestrian show with Fire Horse Show
All day: horse exhibition and sale, pony rides, small craft market, specialist equestrian stalls, etc.
At 12 noon, paella for €18 per person (main course, dessert, wine and coffee). Book via Helloasso or at the U Express in Sorèze.
Free horse-drawn carriage shuttle between the Berniquaut car park and the abbey grounds, from 10.00 to 12.00 and from 15.00 to 17.00.
