With its Latin and Spanish songs, Chimba Chimba takes you on a journey through the music of Spain, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela…
This duo performs songs by songwriters such as Violeta Parra, Victor Jara, Raúl Carnota, Cartola, Antônio Carlos Jobim, Simón Díaz… as well as more popular songs sung around the world by great artists such as Cesaria Evora, Mercedes Sosa, Lila Downs….
The lyrics can be poetic and committed, or light and festive. Rooted in the major themes of life, they speak of love, life and death, workers, the farming world, festive rituals…
A wide variety of rhythms are on offer, from Argentine chacarera to Brazilian bossa, from the folklore of the Guaranis of Bolivia to flamenco sevillana. From the swaying melodies of Cuba to the energetic rhythms of the squares of Spain, the audience will be singing and dancing along.
