‘Music is noise that thinks,’ wrote Victor Hugo.
Yet there is no physical difference between sound and noise.
The distinction between the two lies solely in the way each is perceived. So when does noise become music?
And does the object that produces this noise become an instrument?
What if we said that music is born in the ear of the listener, just as the instrument reveals itself in the mischievous hand of the player?
This playful programme, inspired by American music, heir to pop art, makes us want to play with everything we can get our hands on!
