Leee John, the band’s founder and lead singer, was born in London before leaving England for the United States. Upon arriving in New York, he was quickly swept up by his passion for music.
Back in England, they met Errol Kennedy, the drummer of the American band Midnight Express, with whom they formed the funk trio Imagination in 1981, in homage to John Lennon’s song of the same name.
Produced by the duo Tony Swain and Steve Jolley, their debut album *Body Talk*, released in 1981, was an instant success with tracks such as ‘Flashback’ and ‘Body Talk’. But it was with their second album, *In the Heat of the Night*, released in late 1982, that the English band reached its peak.
The single *Just an Illusion* became their biggest hit, cementing the band’s fame across the globe – in England, of course, as well as in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden and even South Africa – and topping charts worldwide.
Imagination and Leee John’s sensual voice are sure to captivate the floating stage and treat the audience to a colourful and spectacular show… which, this time, will be more than just an illusion
