SAINT-FELIX-LAURAGAIS
The Ensemble Vocal de la Vallée du Tarn, conducted by MP Frézouls, invites the audience on a journey through nine centuries of music, in the remarkable setting of the Collegiate Church of Saint-Félix-Lauragais.
From early music to contemporary composers, ‘Mosaïque’ brings together different eras, styles and sounds.
Bach, Mozart and Bruckner, as well as Rutter, Jenkins and other leading figures of the repertoire, will mark this journey, in which the choir, organ, trumpet and the magnificent voice of mezzo-soprano Gweni Alonso Aruffo will alternate and come together.
The Vocal Ensemble will have the privilege of sharing this concert with two internationally renowned musicians: the trumpeter Bernard Soustrot, one of the leading figures of the French school of trumpet playing, and the organist Jean Dekyndt, a renowned concert organist, former director of the Toulouse and Montpellier Conservatoires, and titular organist at the Montpellier and Narbonne cathedrals.
Their collaboration promises some of the finest pieces from the repertoire for trumpet and organ, ranging from Baroque grandeur to the brilliance of great concertante works.
Mezzo-soprano Gweni Alonso Aruffo will bring a fresh dimension to this musical palette, particularly in two works that combine the voice with the sounds of the organ and the trumpet.
With ‘Mosaïque’, the Ensemble Vocal de la Vallée du Tarn presents a concert in which the spirituality of the voices, the power of the organ and the brilliance of the trumpet transcend the centuries to showcase the full richness of our musical heritage.
