TOULOUSE
The roguish sounds of *Bœuf sur le toit*, inspired by Brazil, echo the joyful spirit of *Capriccio italiano*, followed by selected pieces from the great Russian ballets, *Raimonda* and *The Nutcracker*. At the heart of this dazzling programme, Marianne Crebassa, an Occitan mezzo-soprano, performs a selection from Canteloube’s *Chants d’Auvergne* – a new discovery for the Orchestre du Capitole, which has never before performed these melodies sung in the Occitan language. Timur Zangiev’s passionate conducting adds an extra touch of brilliance to this richly varied programme.
