Mickaël, history and geography teacher, will give a talk on his book “Aux origines de l’AZF, le problème de l’azote en France”. He will trace the creation of the Office National de l’Azote (National Nitrogen Office) between the wars, the forerunner of AZF. The explosion at the AZF plant in Toulouse in 2001 left a lasting impression. This accidental chemical disaster claimed the lives of 30 plant employees, but also had human, material and environmental consequences.
