Lecturer Jean-Luc Fabre immerses us in the revolution of women’s status in 19th-century Montpellier.
The streets of Montpellier were once filled with a spirit of freedom. It was the spirit of the grisettes, young women of needle and light, who wove much more than fabric: they wove their destiny. Between romantic imagination and social reality, between Paris and Occitania, Jean Luc Fabre gives a voice to these women who dared to live differently, paving the way for a female autonomy that was still unimaginable in their time.
