MARQUET MAKING :
In the heart of Annaëlle and Alexandre’s workshop, learn about woodworking and discover the infinite possibilities of this material.
Marquetry is a unique art that allows you to sublimate a piece using wood of different colours.
Choosing the type of wood, cutting and assembling your design, you’ll go through all the stages to create your own unique motif.
You’ll start by drawing the desired shape before cutting out the elements. Then come the assembly and gluing stages.
During this workshop, make your own inlaid decoration or four inlaid coasters on the theme of Dom Robert’s work. You’ll leave with your own creation and plenty of ideas!
ENGRAVING :
In the heart of Annaëlle and Alexandre’s workshop, learn about woodworking and discover the infinite possibilities of this material!
During this workshop, you’ll make your first wood engraving using the basic tools of the sculptor: the gouge, the burin and the engraving plate.
You will begin by reproducing the motif of your choice, taken from the work of Dom Robert.
Once the shape has been drawn, you will be guided from the carving of your wooden matrix to the printing of your design on paper.
You’ll leave with your stamp (which can be transformed into a frame) and your print!
