Artist TalkFlamenco: Carte Blanchewith Chely La Torito, choreographer
During these intimate evenings, a temporary stage is offered to talented artists, who can thus whisper their doubts or regrets, but also share their delights or secret revelations linked to their craft.
These exchanges are sometimes illustrated by gestures and musical notes, but are always subtly guided by the commentary of Paul-Eric Laurès, a journalist and teller of anecdotes.
A flamenco artist deeply rooted in tradition, Chely La Torito has developed a body of work that combines the passing on of tradition, creativity and human engagement.
Since 2007, she has been sharing flamenco with a wide range of audiences, conveying not only an art form but also its fundamental values: listening, kindness, respect and mutual support.
Convinced that flamenco touches the heart to soothe the soul, her work lies at the crossroads of the flamenco heritage and a deeply human and collective contemporary experience.
‘I’m not trying to show flamenco. I’m trying to bring it to life.’ Chely La Torito
