In the authentic setting of the refectory of the Jacobins Convent, this family activity takes you on a gustatory journey to the heart of the Middle Ages. For 20 to 30 minutes, discover the history of hypocras, the sweet and spicy drink served at medieval banquets. Guided by an interpreter, try your hand at crushing cinnamon, ginger and other spices in a light mortar and pestle, before leaving with your own ready-to-infuse blend. It’s a sensory experience that’s fun and accessible for 8-year-olds and over, combining history, flavour and conviviality.
