COLOMBIERS
Tony Moggio, who became quadriplegic following an accident during a rugby match, has established himself as a figure of resilience and self-improvement. After taking on a number of spectacular sporting challenges, he has announced a major new project: to link Royan to Sète on a handbike, covering over 700 km in 13 stages, from June 10 to 25, 2026.
On the 12th stage, Tony will pass through Colombiers on June 23, at around 11.30 am / 12 noon.
We look forward to seeing you at the Colombiers boulodrome to give him a warm welcome, cheer him on and give him all your energy for this incredible human and sporting adventure.
Through this challenge, Tony wants to raise public awareness of inclusion and demonstrate that people with disabilities are capable of extraordinary feats. His journey is a powerful message of hope, courage and determination.
Exceptional heritage recognition
Tony Moggio’s Royan-Sète challenge was selected by the Comité du bien culturel canal du Midi and the Entente pour le canal du Midi, as part of the 30th anniversary of the Canal du Midi’s inclusion on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
This recognition pays tribute to the human and symbolic dimension of a project that goes far beyond mere sporting achievement: by choosing to link the Atlantic to the Mediterranean via this historic waterway, Tony Moggio has made the Canal du Midi much more than just a route, he has made it the common thread of a universal message of solidarity and peace
a universal message of inclusion, self-improvement and sharing
and sharing.
A wonderful way to celebrate, together, thirty years of living heritage.
