DELİ ZİRZOP’s music can be as massive and wild as it is delicate and finely crafted, as cheerful and infectious as a trance, yet as taut as a drone.
A robust rhythm section provides a solid foundation for ornate themes, frenzied solos and a deep voice. The group is committed to rigorously recreating traditional music that is as much folk as it is classical, whilst placing great emphasis on improvisation.
The repertoire, enhanced by extensive arranging, includes, amongst other things, traditional songs from various regions of Turkey, Romani songs, Bulgarian wedding tunes and even a few nods to Turkish pop, offering variety in both rhythms and soundscapes.
DELİ ZİRZOP, in short, is a real party! The musicians, dressed in colourful costumes, radiate their joy at playing together, dancing and getting the audience to dance too. And when their chemistry wins over the audience, a frenetic energy takes hold.
