Dive into “Paillettes”, a modern, hard-hitting comedy that shakes up the codes of Christmas Eve! Fred, newly divorced, is preparing to spend his first Christmas Eve without his children.
To avoid loneliness and gloomy thoughts, he invites himself to the home of his lifelong friend Hugo, who, being an atheist and childless, hadn’t planned anything special. But Hugo’s wife, Corine, takes a dim view of Fred’s arrival, who embodies everything she hates: a self-confident self-made man, an inveterate cavorter, and an often inappropriate sense of humor.
To balance things out, she invites her sister, who finds herself stranded by a snowstorm, causing a blackout.
Enter Nadia, their charming neighbor and anthropology student, who has come to warm up. The evening quickly descends into chaos: Fred, seduced by Nadia, rushes to make advances under Hugo’s critical eye, while the hidden truths about Corine and Hugo’s sterility finally come out.
Misunderstandings, tensions and revelations will make this New Year’s Eve degenerate much more than expected.
One year later, on the occasion of a new Christmas Eve, we meet up with our four characters for an optimistic and unexpected ending, full of surprises and emotions.
