Exhibition: ‘Greek Agde: Archaeological Discoveries from the Rhône to the Pyrenees’

AGDE

Description

Ceramics, agricultural tools, religious artefacts, jewellery, weapons and military equipment, architectural elements, and statues… all await discovery, offering insight into the Greek presence in Occitanie.
This exhibition aims to highlight evidence of the Greek presence in Occitanie, from the Rhône to the Pyrenees, as well as to reveal the legacies left by these Mediterranean influences: towns and urban networks along the coast and riverbanks, road, river and maritime transport, and the exploitation of agricultural (cereals and wine) and mining (copper and silver) resources…
Ceramics, agricultural tools, religious objects, jewellery, weapons and military equipment, architectural elements, statuary… over a hundred objects will be on display, the majority of which have never been shown to the public or are rarely seen.
