EXPOSITION : DES SPECTRES À LA PLAGE

BOUZIGUES

Description

The Louis Higounet État de Thau Museum in Bouzigues welcomes you starting September 19, 2026, for the “Spectres on the Beach” exhibition, an art exhibition born out of an artist-in-residence program in the Sète Agglomération Méditerranée region. This project is a continuation of the partnership launched in 2019 between the Patrimoine network and artists-in-residence, whose goal is to highlight the work carried out through immersion in the region and its inhabitants.

Emma Charrin and Olivier Muller: Two Perspectives on the Mediterranean

The Mediterranean, sand, salt, and waters in between are among the subjects explored in the work of Emma Charrin, a visual artist and photographer, and Olivier Muller, a choreographer and visual artist. “Spectres on the Beach” is the result of their intersecting and complementary perspectives on the Mediterranean coastline— a sensitive and artistic exploration of the boundaries between the visible and the invisible, the body and the landscape, the material and the immaterial.

An Artist-in-Residence Program in the Region

This artistic project is the result of an artist-in-residence program within the Patrimoine network— a truly immersive experience lasting four to six weeks, during which selected artists are given carte blanche to create work inspired by the region and its inhabitants. This approach makes the exhibition a creation deeply rooted in the identity of the Thau Basin.
