EXPOSITION SENSIBLES — VOYAGE AU CŒUR DES PERCEPTIONS ANIMALES

LOUPIAN

Description

The Stéphane Hessel Media Center and School Library in Loupian is hosting the exhibition “Sensitive? A Journey into the Heart of Animal Perceptions,” organized by L214 Éducation in partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute France. An invitation to (re)discover the animal world from scientific, philosophical, and civic perspectives.

Animal Senses: Under the Magnifying Glass
Through its display panels, the exhibition takes you on a fascinating sensory journey: how do animals see, hear, smell, taste, and touch the world? Far beyond our five senses, discover extraordinary abilities as well: electroreception, magnetoreception, thermolocation…

Sensitivity, Consciousness, and Emotions
The exhibition explores the question of animal sensitivity from the perspective of consciousness and emotions. Based on the 2012 Cambridge Declaration, it invites you to question our relationship with animals through excerpts from great philosophers— Condillac, Rousseau, Bentham, Condorcet—and recent developments in animal law in France and around the world.

Exhibition open to all. Free admission during the media library’s opening hours.
