BEZIERS
Legend has it that Bach composed these variations for a German nobleman from Dresden (Count Herman von Keyserling) who couldn?t sleep at night? His pupil Johann Gottlieb Goldberg set off to play them for him, hence the name. You’ll discover the theme, the Aria, which Bach transforms in 30 different ways: that’s what we call variations. Bach plays with fast, danceable rhythms, then offers slower, more melancholy variations.
