Born in 2001, Jakob Manz is regarded as one of the rising stars of the German jazz scene. Renowned for his impressive technique and his richly melodic saxophone playing, he began his musical training at a very young age and studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart, where he became a member of the BuJazzO (Federal Jazz Orchestra). He has won several prestigious jazz awards in Germany, released his debut album, *Natural Energy*, on the ACT label at the age of 19, and has performed at all the major German festivals, as well as abroad.
Manz is known for his collaborations with various ensembles, including the Jakob Manz Project and the SWR Big Band. He works with numerous renowned musicians and performs regularly at national and international festivals and clubs. Jakob Manz is one of the most promising young saxophonists in Germany and Europe, distinguished by his innovative and original approach. He recently joined organist Simon Oslender’s project, contributing to the album ‘On A Roll’ and performing live with Will Lee (bass) and the legendary Steve Gadd (drums).
The evening kicks off with a trio featuring Florent Hortal on guitar and Nicolas Blancot on keyboards.
