After Compay Segundo’s death in 2003, his musicians continued his dream under the name El Grupo Compay Segundo, travelling the world to keep his music alive.
Released in October 2022, Vivelo marks a turning point with eight original tracks co-written by Salvador Repilado, Compay’s son, and Maikel Dinza.
Blending tradition and modernity, the album features big names such as Issac Delgado, Alexander Abreu and Rolando Luna, and revisits San Luisera and Les Mains d’Or by Bernard Lavilliers.
Vivelo unites generations around a reinvented Cuban sound.
