TOULOUSE
The motifs are not merely decorative. They convey meaning, symbolism and stories. To understand them, participants are invited to observe them directly within the monument, and then to reinterpret them in a workshop on creating stained-glass effects using tissue paper. The activity thus alternates between observation, reflection and creative expression, transforming the discovery into a personal experience.
A tour to understand the role of the motifs: Using small reproductions of the motifs, visitors search for various motifs within the monument. This exploration allows them to discover the architecture of the site, then to analyse the motifs they have found in order to understand their forms, techniques and, above all, their symbolic significance.
A workshop to create your own tissue paper stained-glass window: participants create their own composition, combining cutting and collage, before layering coloured tissue paper to create a translucent effect.
