In the Basilica of Saint-Aphrodise, visual artist Alexis Vicente, a leading figure in the art brut movement, unveils a singular world populated by recurring characters. These beings, born of his imagination, come to life in his drawings, paintings and sculptures, made from recycled materials, layers of glue, paint and varnish.
Her universe, at once whimsical, poetic and disconcerting, questions our view of creation. The artist will also offer live demonstrations, mixing painting and sculpture before the eyes of visitors.
