In the year of our Lord 1360, fear reigned in the streets of France. The Black Death has struck, mowing down children and adults, men and women, nobles and poor alike. In these dark times, however, there is still a little room for hope: the plague seems to have spared a handful of fiefs, including Frontignan, where Henri de Percehaie, a renowned alchemist, has mysteriously disappeared. All he left behind were a few pages of his diary…
