TOULOUSE
Born in Malta in 1978, he discovered opera at the age of thirteen through the film *The Great Caruso*, little knowing that he would go on to win the Caruso Competition in Milan a few years later. He signed with Decca at the age of twenty-five and made his mark on the world’s greatest stages. From the Met to Covent Garden, from Vienna to the Bastille, he has triumphed as the Duke of Mantua, Alfredo, Rodolfo, Cavaradossi, Hoffmann and Faust, roles he embodies with infectious fervour. For his first recital at the Capitole, he blends Slavic melancholy with Italian passion… Accompanying him is the French pianist Sarah Tysman, who is based in Vienna and Berlin and has collaborated with some of the greatest singers.
