The ICT boasts a significant heritage, with sites listed as historic monuments or included in the supplementary inventory. These include a Gallo-Roman wall, the remains of an 18th-century cannon foundry, an early 20th-century fresco and a 17th-century painted ceiling.
This weekend, the Catholic Institute is opening its doors to you!
Come and discover a unique testament to Toulouse’s ancient history! A visit to the Georges Baccrabère museum space offers you an exceptional opportunity to explore the only visible remnant in situ of the city’s 3rd-century Gallo-Roman rampart. This defensive wall is a key part of Toulouse’s heritage, revealing the organisation and challenges of the Roman era. You can also admire a collection of ceramics and various ancient artefacts, which bear witness to daily life and the craftsmanship of that period.
Do also visit the library to explore the finest examples of our written heritage! Rare works, some dating back over 400 years, are presented to you in person: manuscripts, incunabula, beautifully bound volumes… So many treasures to discover as you turn the pages!
In the Saint-Claire Chapel, from 4 pm to 5 pm, come and listen to the Gregorian choir of the Institute of Sacred Arts and Music.
