TOULOUSE
Karpouzi Mon Amour are four musicians from Toulouse who play surf rock with Greek melodies. Formed in 2020, the band draws its repertoire from 1960s Greek rock — led by Aris San — blended with the raw energy of Dick Dale and the Mediterranean sound of Boom Pam. Guitar-led, with a driving rhythm section and vocals in Greek: something between the Aegean Sea and California, with no compromises. Most of the tracks are instrumental; the melodies speak for themselves. On stage, the band plays a well-rehearsed set, with a powerful live energy. It’s a bit like Tarantino spending an evening at Kusturica’s: sharp riffs, danceable rhythms, influences ranging from the Middle East to the Pacific coast.
