TOULOUSE
To “have the sacred fire”, to “make fire of all wood”, to “put one’s hand to the fire”, to “play with fire”… Fire permeates our language because it is a central force in human societies, an element of combustion in all its forms, real and symbolic, a real driving force behind evolution and the history of humanity: heating, cooking food, lighting, producing energy, making tools.
The theme of this 9th edition is “Fires”, and there are plenty of opportunities to meet historians, meteorologists, writers, musicians and many more. These guests will explore with you both the devastating effects of fire on flora and its usefulness to us humans.
Trace the history of fire through history and places.
