AGDE
Theatre-comedy by Fred Radix
With Alice Noureux, Fred Radix and Guillaume Collignon
An applauded play is a successful play!
At the end of the 19th century, theaters called on clappers who, scattered throughout the audience, were responsible for applauding at the right moment.
So imagine the panic of Auguste Levasseur, head clapper, when on opening night he was abandoned by his team.
His only solution was to find replacements for the evening’s performance.
Fortunately, Fauvette, the orchestra’s musician, and Dugommier, the theater’s stage manager, are there to help. It’s a tough job. There are only three of them, and tonight their careers are hanging by a thread!
Set in 1895, in a Parisian theater, Fred Radix takes up a subject and a character that have marked the history of theater, and treats them with humor, musicality and a historical shift.
