CASTANET-TOLOSAN
This public dictation event is aimed at a broad, intergenerational audience (parents, grandparents, neighbours, colleagues, friends, businesses, the press, etc.). It is an opportunity to share a friendly and fun experience centred around a dictation. This year, blind and partially sighted people are invited to take part just like everyone else. The event aims to raise public awareness of the reality of illiteracy in France. People who are illiterate face numerous difficulties (suffering, exclusion from a system that relies predominantly on written and verbal communication). People who are blind, for their part, suffer a double disadvantage when they do not have access to reading and writing in Braille.
This year’s event will therefore see the participation of blind and partially sighted people. Since the 1950s, blindness and illiteracy have been two causes close to the hearts of the Lions Clubs. This is why they wished to include blind and partially sighted people in this dictation. Apart from the different visual aids, the text will be the same, as will the marking, with a joint ranking to demonstrate the ability
of this particular group to integrate into everyday life. This will give sighted people the opportunity to discover a little-known world.
**AGE**: This year, we are setting a challenge for dictation enthusiasts with four levels of difficulty:
* Primary school pupils up to Year 6;
* Lower secondary school pupils from Year 6 to Year 9;
* Upper secondary school pupils from Year 10 to Year 13;
* Adults for all other participants.

Advance registration on the website is strongly recommended.
**FEE**: free for under-18s. Adults are simply asked to contribute €10, or more if they wish, as a donation to the causes we support.
All proceeds from this dictation will be donated in full to our club’s charitable work and will fund initiatives for blind and partially sighted people and the fight against illiteracy.
