LES CAMMAZES
For its 7th national edition, La Nuit des Forêts is coming to Revel for a not-to-be-missed nature day! Revel’s Comité des fêtes, in partnership with the MUB and the hiking club, invites you to explore the forest in a different way and discover the challenges facing it, through a variety of activities and workshops.
On the programme
Cammazes village hall and Aiguille forest:
– 13:00 – 13:30: welcome for hikers, families and participants
– 1:30 pm: Presentation of the day and formation of groups
– 1.45pm – 2.45pm: The art of wood and the forest, led by Nicolas Rabot, craftsman. Discussion on the themes of forest management, wood and its uses, biodiversity, prevention and behaviour in the forest.
– 3pm: supervised departure for the Aiguille forest by the hiking club
– 3.30pm – 6.30pm: 4 workshops in rotation:
– straw marquetry by the Musée du Bois et de la Marqueterie (Wood and Marquetry Museum)
– bee-keeping by Pierre Rivals
– forest bathing by Nicolas Rabot
– macro photography by Karine Gadre (30 to 40 min per workshop)
– 6.30pm: end of the first part of the day
– continued: drive from Les Cammazes to Peyrebazal
At the Peyrebazal estate :
– packed lunch / picnic
– 8pm – 11pm: an evening in the heart of nature, a night-time walk with storytelling by Maryse Rivière, astronomy by the club E. Sciences Ciel club from Gardouch and sound bath concert by Stéphane Besse
Practical information: depending on the weather, you are advised to bring :
– water and sun protection
– a picnic for the day
– warm clothing or rain gear
You should also bring a headlamp (or equivalent light) for the night hikes and good footwear.
