BEZIERS
Japanese bandoneonist Kimiyo Ogawa is one of the few women to master this emblematic tango instrument. Her virtuosity and sensitivity blend the accents of the Río de la Plata with contemporary influences.
Alongside her, the Mezcal Jazz Unit, an Occitan quartet founded in 1986 by Emmanuel de Gouvello, has been exploring mixed jazz for nearly forty years, nourished by improvisation and world sounds.
Their meeting in Cambodia ten years ago gave rise to a unique collaboration in which tango and jazz engage in dialogue. The result is Distancia, a work that illustrates both the geographical distance and musical proximity of the artists.
The concert begins at 6pm on the indoor stage on the Bistro side. The bar will remain open all evening, and it will be possible to dine after the concert in the Bistro des Ostals.
