TOULOUSE
Le Castelet, the only part of the former Saint-Michel prison in Toulouse that is still open to the public, is opening its doors for a guided tour focusing on the dark years from 1939 to 1945. Used in turn by the Vichy regime and then by the Nazis, this site was the scene of arbitrary arrests, political detentions and acts of resistance. The tour highlights the diversity of the resistance movements, particularly within Marcel Langer’s brigade, where men and women of various nationalities fought against the oppressor. Through archives, testimonies and an interactive screen, visitors discover the human story behind the walls. A powerful experience of remembrance, suitable for those aged 12 and over, so that we never forget.
