TOULOUSE
But what are soapboxes?
They are vehicles with 3 or 4 wheels (or more) and no engine. They are mounted on a wooden or metal chassis. They move as a result of the Earth’s gravity, so the box is placed on a slope! There is no mechanical propulsion or traction system. So, are you ready for a crazy race?
Come along to Avenue de la Colonne for the most fun race of the year, a carnival village and live music. This year, the event is decked out in the colours of the Tour de France. Don’t forget to reward the best costume or the most original racing car! (Yellow jersey, living publicity caravan, retro cyclist…)
Notice to participants: Everyone can take part – children, parents and grandparents! Build your own soapbox (a vehicle without an engine, but with a braking system) and take on the descent in style! Use your imagination, and the most creative will be rewarded. And don’t forget to sign up – places are limited!
