TOULOUSE
1957, Moscow. In the midst of the Cold War, as the space race gathers pace, Laika, a dog, struggles to survive on the streets of the frozen city. She is as yet unaware that her destiny will see her launched aboard the Sputnik II spacecraft, making her the first living being to orbit the Earth. A heroine in spite of herself, a symbol of scientific achievement, but also a silent victim of human ambition.
