TOULOUSE
The Four Seasons, a set of four violin concertos composed by Antonio Vivaldi between 1723 and 1725, are amongst the most iconic works of Baroque music. Indeed, for one of the first times in the history of music, an instrumental score follows the thread of sonnets and depicts specific scenes: birdsong, a storm, hail, intoxication, or even walking on ice… The virtuosity of the violin takes the listener through a whole range of emotions.
This, then, is a unique opportunity to (re)discover this essential masterpiece in a string quartet arrangement, which highlights all the finesse and genius of the Italian composer’s writing.
