SOREZE
From 28 November to 27 December: Christmas Magic at the Cité de Sorèze
This winter, step through the gates of the Cité de Sorèze and let yourself be swept away into a world where the magic of Christmas meets the treasures of our heritage. Sumptuous sets inspired by La Fontaine’s famous Fables will come to life before your very eyes. The Crow and the Fox, The Cicada and the Ant, The Lion and the Rat… The characters that have enchanted the childhoods of entire generations take centre stage in a magical journey, filled with twinkling lights, mischievous animals and marvellous scenes.
This enchanted walk echoes the ‘Garde à vous!’ exhibition, which reveals the lives of the pupils at the Abbey School in the late 18th century, when La Fontaine’s Fables played a vital role in the education of the young boarders.
Young and old alike are invited to dream, marvel and rediscover these timeless tales, which continue to impart their wisdom with humour and poetry.
