TOULOUSE
Join us at the end of the day at the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Daurade for a special look at this iconic site and its history.
Once upon a time, there was a church covered in mosaics with a golden background, known in Occitan as “la Dorée”. Although nothing remains today of the original sites from the 5th or 12th centuries, the aura surrounding the Church of La Daurade is still charismatic. You are now entering a building rebuilt between 1764 and 1884, but be warned: what you find at the late hour of this visit could well lead you into a magical sensory universe…
Our eyes are used to looking at things, but from an unfamiliar and more obscure angle, the retina is quickly thrown off balance. With the help of a torch, each detail appears in a new light. You can follow a procession of pious figures, decipher intimate, handwritten vows to Notre-Dame – in short, you’ll be part of a quest to rediscover this popular church.
Once you’ve made your way into the church, as if at the end of a fairytale, you’ll be happy for at least the rest of the evening…
