TOULOUSE
The local authority produces around 300,000 annual and biennial plants: perennials, vegetables, chrysanthemums, fruit trees, shrubs and tree seedlings. The municipal greenhouses also keep a collection of Toulouse horticultural violets and produce around 2,000 young Toulouse plants every year.
During your visit to this two-hectare flower garden in the heart of the city, you’ll be able to contemplate the beauty of the metal architecture of the historic greenhouses, discover the ten floral arrangements in the summer collection, including a selection of drought-resistant perennials, and get tips and demonstrations from professionals: horticulturists, gardeners, florists, pruners and landscapers are on hand to advise you. Then enjoy free workshops, events and games.
Those who wish to do so can take away seedlings donated by the local authority.
If you follow the Canal du Midi along the Boulevard de la Marne, at the entrance to the greenhouses, you’ll also have the chance to discover various stalls selling flowers and market garden plants.
