GARDOUCH
All symbols of the ‘slow tourism’ that is so much in demand these days.
But that would be to reduce the Canal du Midi to a use that is far from being the only one, and above all one that was not its original purpose!
Today, tourists, walkers, cyclists, fishermen, rowers, farmers, local residents and goods transporters all use the canal, each with their own problems and needs, and some of them find it hard to coexist.
On Saturday 15 November, stands, exhibitions and events will be set up around the Gardouch Flour Mill to highlight the uses of the canal, raise public awareness of the needs and problems of today’s users, and bring together local users who don’t always get the chance to meet.
