TOULOUSE
Wayne Marshall, a British conductor specialising in this repertoire, will get the Orchestre du Capitole swinging with *Lady in the Dark* and *Fancy Free*. He will be joined by a trio led by one of today’s greatest jazz pianists, Paul Lay, for a second half paying tribute to Gershwin. Following his famous *Rhapsody in Blue*, inspired by the hustle and bustle of New York, the concert concludes with a jam session featuring his greatest standards, made unforgettable by Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and many others. A return to the roots of jazz – and to his own musical origins – for Paul Lay, who studied at the Toulouse Conservatoire.
