TOULOUSE
Here’s an express tour to squeeze in between the seats in the theatre’s best locations. When the dancers, musicians and singers take a breather between two performances, the guide will take you to sniff out the scents of make-up, velvet and wood, and observe from a distance the stagehands working to hoist, carry and dismantle the scenic elements. There’s no question of going backstage, for safety reasons, but you do get to see all the floors!
The artists’ entrance gives an idea of the space dedicated to the movement of the actors in this world apart. Then, after the reception hall and foyers, the guide will take you to paradise before descending to the balcony and finally to the parterre. Each stage has its own surprises in store for you: sublime views of the immense horseshoe-shaped auditorium, rumours and anecdotes to capture the creative and productive potential of Toulouse’s famous Théâtre du Capitole.
